Mumbai: NRB Industrial Bearings Limited (NIBL) reported a strong financial performance for FY26, registering an 18.63% increase in sales despite facing demand pressures across several industrial sectors. The company attributed its growth to deeper penetration in the domestic OEM and distribution markets, expansion into new export destinations, continued investment in research and development, and a customer-focused product strategy.
NRB Industrial Bearings Limited, headquartered in Fort, Mumbai, is a prominent manufacturer in India, specialising in a comprehensive range of ball and roller bearings designed primarily for the industrial sector in both domestic and international markets. Established in October 2012, NIBL has solidified its presence as a leading provider in the field.
NIBL's industrial bearings find application across a diverse spectrum of industries, including but not limited to machine tools, textiles, industrial gearboxes, cranes and conveyors, cement production, mining and minerals, fluid machinery (such as pumps, fans, and blowers), harvesters, metals, process industries (including fertiliser, sugar, paper, and pulp), bottling, canning, packaging, medical equipment (such as X-ray and imaging machines), industrial electrical components (including electric motors and circuit breakers), and industrial automation.
In his message to shareholders, Mr. Devesh Singh Sahney, Chairman & Managing Director, said the company remained committed to delivering high-quality products, enhancing customer service and driving sustainable long-term growth. He noted that the global bearing market, currently valued at approximately US$156.2 billion, is projected to grow at a CAGR of 9.8%, reaching over US$301 billion by 2033, supported by industrial automation, electric vehicles and modernization of aerospace and railway sectors.
Despite the favourable long-term industry outlook, the company encountered lower demand from textile machinery and radial piston pump segments, while domestic agricultural harvester manufacturers faced intense competition from imported Chinese equipment. Nevertheless, the company achieved 17% growth over the previous financial year, supported by innovation, new product development and market expansion initiatives.
Domestic and Export Markets Drive Growth
The company said India's 7.7% GDP growth in FY26, driven by domestic demand, services exports and private investment, provided a favourable backdrop for business expansion.
During the year, NRB Industrial Bearings strengthened its presence across both the domestic distribution network and OEM segment. On the export front, the company focused on developing new products and expanding into new international markets, including the United States and Southeast Asia, which contributed to business growth.
Export turnover increased to Rs. 24.78 crore in FY26 from Rs. 18.91 crore in the previous year.
Industrial Market Remains Challenging
According to the company, the operating environment remained challenging throughout FY26 due to global economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions.
Growing imports of Chinese machinery, mechanical components and bearings, coupled with the Government's push for electric vehicles, prompted several automotive bearing manufacturers to diversify into industrial bearings, intensifying competition within the domestic market.
While sectors such as industrial gearboxes, construction machinery, material handling equipment and machine tools performed broadly in line with expectations, demand from textile machinery, mining and agricultural equipment remained subdued.
Reduced schedules from key OEM customers in the textile and radial piston pump industries also impacted revenues. However, the company utilized the slowdown to secure approvals for new products replacing multinational competitors, strengthening its long-term market position.
Focus on R&D and Customer-Centric Products
NRB Industrial Bearings continued investing in its manufacturing facility and research & development centre to support innovation and product development.
The R&D team focused on both new product development and enhancement of existing product lines to meet evolving customer requirements.
The company's growth strategy remains focused on customized bearing solutions for sectors including material handling, agriculture, industrial electrical equipment and industrial transmission.
Alongside product innovation, NIBL is expanding its distribution footprint into untapped Tier-II cities across India to improve access to emerging industrial clusters.
The company also plans to strengthen its presence across underpenetrated markets in India, Asia and the Americas through customer-centric, non-standard bearing products.
Cost Optimisation Supports Operational Efficiency
Operationally, the company implemented stringent inventory and cost-control measures during the year, improving efficiency in raw material and finished goods management while supporting sustainable manufacturing practices.
Management stated that despite evolving market conditions and changing demand patterns, the company remains focused on adapting its strategy to maintain growth momentum and strengthen market relevance.
FY26 Financial Performance
For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, NRB Industrial Bearings reported:
• Turnover: Rs. 75.62 crore, compared with Rs. 63.74 crore in FY25.
• Sales Growth: 18.63% year-on-year.
• Export Turnover: Rs. 24.78 crore, up from Rs. 18.91 crore in the previous financial year.
The company expressed confidence that continued investments in innovation, manufacturing capabilities, customer-focused product development and market expansion will support sustainable long-term growth and create value for stakeholders.
